Sal Removals is a removals company in North London: house and office moves, man and van, house clearance, waste removal and storage, across North London, central London and Hertfordshire. Most of their work comes from people searching for a mover in their own area, so the website has one job: be found locally and turn a visit into a quote request or a phone call.
Where we started
The old site was a page builder WordPress install on shared hosting. It was slow, it had been compromised more than once, and it barely appeared in search for the services and areas the business actually lives on. The area pages talked about the company rather than the place, which is exactly what search engines and customers skip past.
A rebuild, not a repaint
We replaced it with a fast static site built in Astro and served from Cloudflare’s network. There is no admin login, no database and no plugins, so there is nothing left to break into, and nothing to update every month just to stay safe.
The design puts the people first: the crew, the vans and the yard, with real prices on the page and the phone number always within reach. Every page leads to the same two actions, a free quote or a call.

Content written for search
The SEO plan went into the build rather than after it. Every service and area page was rewritten around what a customer in that area actually needs to know: prices, the type of homes, parking, and how long a move takes. We added moving guides that answer the questions people search for, and structured data so search engines understand the business, its reviews and its registrations.
Moving platforms is usually where rankings are lost. Every address from the old site now leads to its new page, so nothing that was earning traffic was left behind.
Quotes and tracking
The quote form is short, clear on a phone and sends every request straight to the office. Analytics and Google Ads conversions carried over from the old site without a gap, so calls, emails and quote requests are still counted the same way. Tracking only starts after the visitor agrees, through our own consent banner rather than a plugin.
Speed
PageSpeed Insights, mobile, October 2026. Desktop scores the same, largest contentful paint 0.3 s.
On a typical area page the old site loaded 80 files and 2.3 MB; the new one loads 8 files and 167 KB. On a phone the main content appears in 1.4 seconds, with nothing jumping around as the page loads.
