Rocket Bean is a specialty coffee roaster from Riga with cafés in Riga, Tallinn and Vilnius. Its online store sells freshly roasted coffee, brewing equipment and coffee services for businesses across the Baltics, in English, Latvian, Lithuanian and Estonian. We designed and built the site and the store, and we have kept developing it since.
A roastery, cafés and a shop in one site
We built a custom WordPress theme on WooCommerce that carries the brand’s bold, dark look from the homepage to the checkout. Beyond the shop, the site tells the whole Rocket Bean story: the roastery, the cafés on a map with addresses and opening hours in all three countries, coffee services for businesses with their own pages, a catalogue of professional brewing equipment, the team, and the partners who serve their coffee. It all runs in four languages, so a customer in Tallinn or Vilnius shops in their own.
Orders that go straight to the ERP
Rocket Bean runs its business in Hanza. We built the WooCommerce integration that sends each order to Hanza the moment it is paid and moves to processing, so nobody retypes orders by hand and stock and invoicing stay in step with the shop.
A checkout that works for businesses
A good share of Rocket Bean’s buyers are cafés, offices and restaurants. We added a B2B checkout on the modern WooCommerce checkout: company name, registration number and VAT number. The VAT number is checked live against the EU’s VIES register and the company name fills itself in. When a VAT-registered business orders from another EU country, the order drops to 0% VAT automatically, even though shop prices include VAT, and the buyer sees a clear “VAT 0%” line in their own language.
Search that understands coffee
A coffee shopper searches by origin, process and taste as often as by name. We wrote a fuzzy search with instant suggestions that matches product names, country of origin, coffee type and category, forgives typos, and keeps a separate index for each of the four languages. Real coffees rank above equipment that only mentions coffee in its name, a single match takes the buyer straight to the product, and the whole thing works from the keyboard. The search results page now answers faster than the shop page itself.
Kept in shape
Alongside the larger pieces we look after the everyday store: product images kept correct across every translation, a two-per-row product grid on mobile, and a header banner the team manages from the admin for promotions such as free shipping across the Baltics.
