Geneva to Chamonix Transfer

Geneva to Chamonix is a travel guide to one of the busiest ski transfers in the Alps: 87 km from the airport to the foot of Mont Blanc, about an hour and a quarter in normal traffic. Every way up the valley is on it, private transfer, shared shuttle, coach, train and taxi, compared honestly, so a traveller can pick the one that fits the trip rather than the one a page happens to sell.

Five ways up, side by side

The home page opens with the road itself: a profile that shows how the route stays almost flat for 67 km and then climbs 455 m in the last 20. Under it, one table lines up the five options by time, changes, advertised price and who each one suits. Then comes the part people actually need: two people with small bags landing before six, a family of four with skis, a flight that lands in the evening, a group of eight.

The honest answer on the train

Train sites say there is one change, because they start at Geneva’s main station. From the airport the timetable lists three, and the guide says so in its first line, then walks through the connection stop by stop with real times. The train is still a good choice for light luggage in daylight, and the page says that too.

By train: no direct service, three changes from the airport, every stop with its time

Prices worked out per person

Private cars and taxis are priced per vehicle, shuttles and coaches per seat, and that is what makes comparisons confusing. The prices page divides each one by group size, so it is plain where the coach stops being the cheap option and a private car starts to win. Every figure is what the operator advertises, dated, and labelled as a guide rather than a quote.

Beyond Chamonix

The guide covers what happens around the trip as well: which side of Geneva Airport to exit, the winter road with its tyre rules and Saturday queues, ski bags and child seats, the way back to the airport, and the neighbouring resorts of Megève, Saint-Gervais and Les Houches, each with its own page.

Built to be found and quoted

The design was drawn for this site alone: white ground, pine green, a serif that reads well at size, the road profile in place of a hero photo. Every page is static HTML served from Cloudflare, opens with a short sourced answer and says when its facts were last checked. That is the kind of sentence search engines rank and AI assistants lift when someone asks how to get from Geneva to Chamonix. Transfer requests go to TransferBnB, where local drivers send their own prices.
