Egļu piegāde grows Nordmann Christmas trees on a 50 hectare plantation in the Liepāja district and brings them to homes and offices across Latvia. It is a business that does almost all of its selling in a few weeks of the year, so the website has one job: make ordering a tree as easy as picking one up, and be ready the moment December starts.
A shop built for a product that does not fit a parcel
A Christmas tree is not a normal online order. It comes in heights from 60 centimetres to five metres, in pots or cut, and the price of getting it to the door depends on where the door is. We built a custom WordPress theme on WooCommerce where every tree is chosen by height, with standard and premium grades side by side, and the wreaths, branches and stands that go with it sit one click away.
Delivery priced before checkout
The part that sells the tree is the delivery page. A customer enters their address, picks the products, and adds installation or collection after the holidays. The cost of delivery, and of the extras, is calculated on the spot and the whole order goes into the cart in one step. Nobody has to call to ask what it costs to bring a three metre tree to Jūrmala, and the free delivery threshold in Riga is visible on every page to nudge the basket over it.
For people who would rather choose in person, the sales points page lists each seasonal market with its dates, opening hours and a direct link to Google Maps and Waze.
A brand that feels like the season
The design leans into what the business actually is: a snowy forest road, an old orange pickup full of trees, warm serif headings and a palette taken from the trees themselves. The homepage tells the story in short blocks, grown in Latvia, quality, the guarantee and free delivery, backed by the numbers that matter to a buyer: 12 years of experience and 25,000 trees sold. A newsletter sign-up in the footer keeps last year’s customers within reach for next December.
The new website was built with the support of the EU Recovery and Resilience Facility, as part of the company’s digital transformation.
