A letter to send to packaging suppliers
Send this to every packaging vendor. It requests the material composition, weight, recycled content, and substances data you need to assess conformity and complete your technical documentation. Under Article 16 of Regulation (EU) 2025/40, suppliers must provide the manufacturer with all information and documentation necessary to demonstrate packaging conformity, including technical documentation in a language easily understood and in paper or electronic form.

Packaging Register
A CSV register to log what you place on the market
Use this spreadsheet to record every packaging type placed on the EU market: material, weight, recycled content, and which countries it reached. You will need this for your annual EPR reporting and to answer market surveillance enquiries. Regulation (EU) 2025/40 Article 15(3) requires manufacturers to retain technical documentation for 5 years from when single-use packaging was placed on the market, and 10 years for reusable packaging. On a reasoned request from a national authority, you must provide this documentation within 10 days .

How to split your annual packaging weight by country - written in Latvian
Registration is per country: a producer registers in the national register of producers of every Member State where it first makes packaging or packaged products available on that territory , and each register wants its own numbers - the Annex IX, Part B, point 1 information for each full preceding calendar year, by 1 June . That turns one annual weight into a figure per destination. This guidance sets out how to derive that split from sales or shipment data and how to write the method down so someone else could repeat it from the same invoices.
