S1 is a Latvian road construction and earthworks company - full-cycle work from design and equipment rental to construction and final handover. They needed a bilingual site that looked current, spoke to both Latvian and international clients, and could be run by their own team without a developer on call for every text change. We built it headless: a separate content system feeding a fast public front end, so the people who know the work update the site, and the site itself stays quick.
A page their team assembles from blocks
The site is built as a block-based page builder. Instead of fixed templates, editors compose each page from reusable sections - hero, services, projects, partners, team, an in-numbers band, latest news, contacts - and arrange them to fit the page. Services and news are structured content with their own detail pages, so adding a new service or a news post is a form to fill in, not a layout to rebuild. The whole thing, including SEO titles and descriptions, is managed by S1’s own staff.
Bilingual by design, not by translation plugin
S1 works across a Latvian and an international market, so the site runs natively in Latvian and English, with clean Latvian slugs on the default language and English equivalents alongside. Every service and news item is maintained in both languages as first-class content rather than an afterthought bolted onto one primary version.
Headless, so the front end stays fast
The build is decoupled: a content system holds the content and the admin, and a separate front end renders it. That split is the point. The public site is a modern front-end app that stays fast and can be redesigned without touching the content, and the content can grow without slowing the site down. The contact form posts back into the same system, where messages are stored and sent on by email, so enquiries are both logged and delivered.
The honest note: headless is more moving parts than a single all-in-one site, and it is not the right call for every small brochure site. For a company that wants a fast, bilingual site their team genuinely controls and can build on, it is worth the extra architecture.
