Aizved mani

“Aizved mani” (“Take me home”) is a fundraising campaign for the evacuation and recovery of wounded Ukrainian defenders, run by the Uzņēmēji mieram (Entrepreneurs for Peace) initiative alongside a benefit concert at the Latvian National Opera. A campaign like this has a narrow window: the message has to land hard and the donation has to happen in the same visit, before the moment passes. We built the whole thing as one fast landing page, bilingual and live in time for the concert.

One page, built to take a donation

The site does one job and does it without a detour. A visitor reads the situation and can give without leaving the page. Donations run through Stripe with preset amounts from 10 to 1,000 euros, plus an open field for any other sum, and there is a phone line for people who would rather give by call. A progress meter tracks the campaign against its 2 million euro goal, so the ask never feels abstract.

A separate path for companies

Corporate giving is not the same act as an individual donation, so it gets its own route. Companies can download a donation agreement and give at a scale that carries real tax relief, up to 85 percent on the donated amount, with a signed contract for larger gifts. The messaging is factual and the paperwork is one click away, which is what a finance department needs to say yes quickly.

The concert, promoted alongside the cause

The benefit concert is part of the campaign, not a footnote. The site carries the poster, the line-up of participants, a watch-live link, the downloadable programme, and a ticket link through to the opera. The cause and the event reinforce each other on the same page rather than competing for attention across two sites.

Bilingual and quick on the phone

The campaign speaks to a Latvian and an international audience, so the whole page runs in Latvian and English. It is built as a modern React site on Next.js, deployed on Vercel, with the display typography delivered as pre-rendered assets so the campaign’s custom lettering stays exact on every screen. A donation page that loads slowly loses donations, so speed was a requirement, not a nicety.

The hard part of a campaign site is not the code. It is respect: telling a difficult story honestly, and then getting out of the way so the person who wants to help can do it in seconds.
